Overlord Fellowship of Evil Easy Level Upgrades

  • PS4 Co-op Partners Thread

Overlord was originally released on the PC. In this game you play as the Overlord. Basically you are Sauron from Lord of the Rings. You get an evil lair and goblin minions to do your bidding. The whole point of the game is to play the bad guy and spread evil. The game can be quite fun as it is tempered with lots of humor. Your minions will ransack things as you go through levels and put on pumpkin helmets, or pots and pans, for armor. Later it was ported to PS3 but was given no trophy support.

Fellowship of Evil is the newest entry into the Overlord series. This time you do not play as the Overlord in an over-the-shoulder perspective. Instead, they took the "Overlord Mythos" and made it into a Diablo style of gameplay. You will play as 1 of 4 lesser entities known as Netherghuls. You will be able to play solo, local co-op with a partner, or online with up to 3 other people. You still control minions but it doesn't play the same as the original Overlord.

Warning, Important info before you begin this game:

This is a PSN game, there is no physical release. The game will freeze every 2 minutes for about 3+ seconds each time. This will not get you killed during a freeze, but it is annoying. It is a known issue and was never patched. Also, for With Friends like these.. you will need 2 controllers as this is a local co-op trophy. And you will need to find 3 other players for the Raucous Rabble trophy, as it requires you to play online, and as 4 separate people. Two people with 2 controllers will not work because you cannot play online with 2 controllers. On top of that, this game was pretty much dead on release. Not many people bought this game so finding 3 other people will be the only thing holding people back from the plat. Connecting online is problematic too. You will search for games, and it will often do a thing where it's like looking into a mirror that's reflecting another mirror so you see the image 20x over, and you can't do anything but close the application and come back in to try again. Sometimes when you get game invites, they will fail repeatedly. There are a couple online trophies that require you to be host in order to get them, if another player is host you will not receive the trophy.

Step 1: Just play through the story and enjoy the game.

You can choose to play through game solo, co-op, or online. It will take you 7 hours minimum to clear the Prologue and 3 Acts. You must choose which of the 4 Netherghuls to play. Inferna is warrior type with a flaming sword. Malady is a sorcerer who can teleport, (the game is already easy, but if you want to fly through the game and dominate, choose her). Cryos is an ice wizard that can do barriers of ice. Last but not least, is the Dwarf Halcon who dual wields weapons and does barrel rolls.

You will need to play through the Prologue and 3 Acts, 20 total missions with several of them just being boss fights. You can switch at any time you like between the 4 Netherghuls by leaving game and choosing continue, NOT NEW GAME. This will keep whatever currency you have accumulated and actually allows you to buy upgrades for each of the 4 Netherghuls without having to play each. That's right, you can just play and grind with 1 character and buy upgrades on the other 3 characters to earn their trophies. Your story progress and minion upgrades also carry over.

Step 2: Online trophies and Grinding trophies.

In this step you will need to finish any online trophies that you did not get in step 1. Also its time to get your grind on. You will need keep clearing maps for currency to do upgrades on your Netherghul and Minions and also buy every weapon in game. At the bottom of this guide I will have a detailed section dedicated to the best map and where all the locations are on it do make your grinding fastest possible

Controls:

= Basic attack (spam this for fast attacks)
= Heavy attack (hold this to charge for powerful knockback attacks)
= Special attack (can only do this every 45 seconds as it needs to recharge, very powerful attack)
+ ,,, or To summon 1 Minion at a time of that color you wish to summon.
Hold for 2 seconds to recall all minions in play back into HUD, tap to summon all minions that you have cubes for all at once.
= Dodge move/shield (depends on which Netherghul you are playing)

Minions:

These are 4 types of goblin that you can summon to aid you in battle and solve puzzles. You can only summon minions if you have cubes to do so stored in your HUD. You can see how many of each type you have. These drop randomly from killing enemies and at the mini spires in maps that have a glowing portal like thing on top. Striking these will make unlimited cubes drop, but you can only carry so many at first. As you gain currency, you can upgrade your minions to be able to carry more.

  • Browns, Warrior type. They will do damage and tank for you. Keep you from getting overrun.
  • Greens, Rogue type. They will backstab enemies and die, upgrades keep them alive longer.
  • Reds, Explosive type. They will run with bombs over their heads and suicide for you.
  • Blues, Healing type. These will stay around you and cast a healing spell that regenerates your health.

Currency:

There is 4 kinds of currency that you will need to farm to buy upgrades.

  • Golden Shards – Used to upgrade minion helmets. Useless, not for trophy, cosmetic only.
  • Purple Gems – Used to upgrade your Netherghul at the statue to become more powerful.
  • Blue Gems - Used to upgrade your Minions, summon more at a time and make them more powerful.
  • Gold cubes – Used to buy new weapons for your Netherghuls.

For the first 3 on the list, at certain times in missions, the Loot goblin might appear after clearing an area of enemies. You won't miss it, across the screen in huge letters LOOT! and chest start to spawn all over. Break them apart and the loot goes flying all over. Simply run around collecting as much as you can before it all disappears, also your minions will help you collect them and hand them to you.

For the Gold cubes, those only come out of static chests that are in the same spots every time in a mission. You just go up and hit them to break them open and you can randomly get up to 4 of these per chest but it varies.

You won't be able to spend any currency until you unlock Ricket by completing the Prologue, mission 3 (Defeating the Trolls mission). This unlocks the Forge to buy weapons and upgrade minions/Netherghuls.

Also, at the end of each mission you will get an "after mission report" that will show how much you collected during that mission. If you finished any of the races in the levels and earned a crown, you will randomly get a bonus. It can be anywhere from 15 to 85 extra currency, that is also randomly added to ONE of those 4 currencies. You can get up to 3 crowns in some levels as they have 3 races.

I will post my Farming Tips here to make this easier.

[PST Would Like To Thank Molasar for this Roadmap]

  • You have unlocked all trophies!

Earn all the other trophies to get this one.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

This is the Tutorial level, it is the first level in the Prologue. It will teach you the basics of Overlording and controlling your Minions. Simply complete the level and this trophy is yours.

  • Gain 100% of the crowns in one quest

You earn this really early in the tutorial. There's a small section demonstrating the timed challenges and you have to reach the end of the bridge within the time limit to win a crown. The timer increases with the items you pick up on the bridge so this is easy to do. Credit to Rhinne for this info.

  • In Act 1, mission 3 "Operation Sheepie" you will run into hundreds of sheep. You only need to kill 50 for the trophy to pop. For the entire mission, you are tasked with killing sheep. You will not be able to miss this.

  • Obtain all weapons for all characters.

There are 9 weapons to buy for each of the 4 Netherghuls. You will need to purchase every weapon on each to unlock this trophy. The currency used for this is the golden cubes that are found in chests. Ricket sells the weapons just right of the Netherportal in your lair. See the farming tips link in Roadmap for more info.

  • Gain 100 crowns in-game through winning phases

For this trophy, you will need to win races in missions. Note: If in a multiplayer game, you have to beat them to get the crown. The races are always at a set location. A timer will appear on screen and tick down. You will need to run over crystals that spawn to pick up more time. Getting to the end of the race with time left earns you a crown. You will need to farm 100 of these wins. Some maps have up to 3 races in them. See link in Roadmap for my tips and more info on how to farm these.

  • Have 12 of your minions active at a given moment.

For this trophy, simply summon 12 minions on screen at one time. This will be one of the first trophies you earn. Just summon as many as you can then get more cube in order to summon more. Once 12 are out in play, the trophy will pop.

  • With four players, each summon 4 minions at the same time.

This is the hardest trophy in the game if you do it legit, because the servers are abysmal and the playerbase is practically non-existent at this point so I recommend you do it offline with 4 controllers. You will need to find 3 other people to join you match and each of you summon 4 minions at the same time. Now this trophy only takes 10 seconds once everyone is in game so is very quick. Please make use of the boosting thread here if you don't have 4 controllers: LINK. Credit to N7-Azrael for this info.

  • Receive the healing effect of blue minions 500 times.

To summon blues, press + to bring them out. If they are close to you and you're damaged, they will gang up around you and cast a healing spell to regenerate your health. Every time you're hurt, just take a break and let your browns do their tanking while you heal up a little. Do this 500 times and the trophy is yours.

  • Summon Green minions to assassinate 50 enemies

To summon Greens, + to make them attack enemies. After you get 50 kills, the trophy will pop. Its also important to note with greens that early on they only attack once and then disappear. So they need to be sent on weakened enemies just before they die to your browns. Later on however, once you upgrade greens, this is not an issue.

  • Kill 100 enemies with explosive red minions.

To summon Reds, press + to send them at enemies and they will blow up. After you get 100 kills, the trophy will pop. Early on in game they won't do much explosive damage. However after upgrading them later, they are instant kills on all non-boss enemies.

  • Kill 50 enemies with defensive brown minions.

To summon Browns, + to send them at enemies. After they have killed 50, the trophy will pop. Browns are your tanks and should be summoned at all times anyways.

  • You will summon more than 500 minions during your playthrough of the game. To summon minions you simply tap to summon all minions you have cubes for, or hold + a face button to bring 1 at a time out of Specific colors.

  • Receive loot from minions 250 times

After certain fights, Loot! will appear on your screen and tombs will appear that you can break open. Destroying these makes currency go flying all over the ground. Run around and collect as much as you can before it vanishes. Your minions will help you pick them up and run them back to you. For this trophy they need to bring back loot 250 times. This will come naturally through your playthrough.

  • Complete/win 100 traversal states within the time limit

For this trophy, you will need to win/complete races in missions. It does not matter if you are solo or in multiplayer, just completing them gets you credit. A timer will appear on screen and tick down. You will need to run over crystals that spawn to pick up more time. Getting to the end of the race with time left earns you 1 win. You will need to complete 100 races to earn this trophy. Some maps have up to 3 races in them. See my tips at the bottom of the guide for more info on how to farm these.

  • Buy all of the upgrades for one minion colour.

You will need to purchase all the upgrades for any single minion color. There are a total of 12 upgrades for each color. They will alternate from being able to summon 1 more minion of that color to making them more powerful. When you purchase all 12 upgrades, the trophy will pop.

  • Buy all of the upgrades for all minion colours.

You will need to purchase all 12 upgrades for each of the 4 minion types. This will take you much longer than a single playthrough to accomplish. See my Tips guide to farming at the bottom of the guide for more info.

  • Buy half of one character's statue upgrades.

You must purchase half of a single Netherghul's upgrades to earn this trophy. There are 9 total per character, you must unlock 5 to earn the trophy.

  • Buy all of one character's statue upgrades.

You must buy all 9 upgrades of one single Netherghul to earn this trophy.

  • Buy all statue upgrades for all four characters.

You must buy all 9 upgrades for each of your Netherghuls at the upgrade statue. The statue is located at the top right of the map in your evil lair. The currency used to upgrade is purple gems that you get from LOOT events. See the farming tips link in Roadmap for more info.

  • Knock 20 enemies off the side of the world and into the abyss!

For this trophy, you will need to find an open ledge. There are tons of spots throughout the game. You will want to get near one of these ledges, and use your heavy attack to knock enemies off. Having 20 go flying off the edge to earn this trophy. In the tutorial mission, there is a spot where the green goblin sign is and you learn about them. Right there is a spot to knock off enemies. This trophy should come naturally. I was able to get it in the 2nd mission. Just keep an eye out for chances to knock them off.

  • Complete any quest in online multiplayer, with at least one other player.

You must first choose to play online, and then load up your character. Now you can try to find a player by going to the network goblin behind your war table or get an invite. You will need to play through a level together to earn this trophy.

  • Kill a "boss enemy" in a multiplayer game.

You must first choose to play online, and then load up your character. Now you can try to find a player by going to the network goblin behind your war table, or get an invite. Once you have a partner, you will need to defeat any boss character in the game to earn this trophy.

  • Complete a quest in local co-op with at least 2 players present.

If you don't have anyone to lend a hand with this one, just play through a level until you reach the portal at the end but before you go through, use a second controller to enter the game with another player and both walk through the portal. You don't need to play through the whole level in co-op, just finish it with at least two co-op players so walking through the portal at the end is enough to trigger the trophy. Credit to Rhinne for this info.

  • Finish a quest in 1st place in multiplayer

You must first choose to play online, and then load up your character. Now you can try to find a player by going to the network goblin behind your war table, or get an invite. What they mean by 1st place is to get to end of the level and have a better score than the other player during the mission results screen. You will want to collect more LOOT than the other player and win more races to earn more crowns. This will net you more currency to win. Just perform better than your partner or take turns boosting.

*Note* Only the host seems to get this trophy. So if you are boosting, you will need to switch host. If you did find a random to play with, you may not get this unless you back out and invite them to your game.

  • You completed the prologue.

Story related and cannot be missed.

Simply complete Prologue, mission 6, and this trophy is yours.

  • You helped Ricket fix her forge.

Story related and cannot be missed.

After completing the 3rd mission in the Prologue "Trolls Lair" you will have gotten the last Dragon egg needed to fix the Forge for Ricket. This will earn you the trophy and unlock the ability to upgrade to new weapons in your Evil Lair.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

You will earn this trophy after completing the 1st mission of Act 1 "Summervale Banquet". All you do is go through the town doing evil things, like killing the villagers, and you will clear this mission.

  • You introduced the peasants to the zombies.

Story related and cannot be missed

In the 1st mission of Act 2, "Zombie Hunt" you will be tasked with killing zombies throughout the level. Simply clear the level and you will earn this trophy.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

Simply finish Act 1, mission 6 "Rural Rampage" and the trophy is yours.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

Simply finish Act 2, mission 4 "Horrors of HollowMurk" and the trophy is yours.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

Simply finish Act 3, mission 6 "Kill that Unicorn" and the trophy is yours.

  • "Careful, we already lost one Overlord down there! I wonder what happened to him?" - Gnarl

Once you have control of your Netherghul in your Evil Lair, simply go up to the very top of the screen. The area you are looking for is up, past the pandas roasting on a spit, where you will see huge beer barrels. Go just to the right of them, where you can see the swirling lava way below. The trophy will pop once you are in the correct area.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

Beat the pair of Trolls in mission 3 of the Prologue "Trolls Lair". There is not much to this fight and they are the only 2 enemies in this mission to kill. Just send in minions and do damage and they will die fairly quick.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

In Act 3, mission 2 "Dead End" you will fight Cedric the Paladin. Cedric will be protected in a barrier that you cannot enter. To get him to come out, you will need to destroy multiple zombie towers around the barrier. Do so quickly as they will just keep spawning more enemies. Eventually he will come out of the barrier and this is your chance to kill him. The trophy will pop upon his death.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

In Act 3, mission 4 "Sewer Standoff" you will fight Lady Clarissa. She will have a ring around her that you cannot enter. This ring will change colors from time to time. You will only be able to send in minions of that color to attack her. Eventually she will come out of the ring and this is your chance to kill her. The trophy will pop upon her death.

  • You defeated the Void Gazer.

Story related and cannot be missed.

In Act 2, mission 3 "Caution Void" you will find yourself facing a huge eyeball creature that shoots beams out of its eye. Simply defeat this Void Gazer to earn the trophy. Just like the Trolls earlier, it's the only enemy in the mission. The Gazer will have a ring around it that you cannot enter. You will have to send your minions in to do your dirty work for you. The ring will change color from time to time and you can only send in minions of that color or else they'll instantly die. You will need to bring the Gazer's health down to 0% four times to finally defeat him.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

In Act 3, mission 6 "Kill that Unicorn" you will be tasked with defeating Sparkle. Sparkle will be in the middle of the field with a barrier over it. To get the barrier down so you and your minions can do damage, you must run around sparkle as fast as you can to let your evil of where you walk consume the ground and take over the flowers, aka the golden. If you run fast enough, the barrier drops. This is your chance to do your worst. You will need to get Sparkle's heath down to 0% four times to finally defeat him. Alternatively, if you have really powerful Red Minions, you can send them through the barrier and they do incredible damage to sparkle, making this fight very short.

  • Story related and cannot be missed.

This will actually pop when you beat the game in Act 3, mission 6 "Kill that Unicorn" since it has to do with the end cutscene.
